Google TV

If there’s one entertainment device that everyone knows and loves, it’s the television. With the average American spending five hours + per day watching their television, it’s no wonder Google wants some of that action.

Together with Sony and Intel, Google are bringing to life the Google TV platform which will give viewers an internet interface via Google Chrome whilst watching tv content.    In an announcement last Thursday at Google I/O, Google challenged web developers to start coming up with the next great web and Android apps designed specifically for the TV experience.

Drag and drop attachments in Gmail

Gmail

Prior to Thursday, April 15, 2010, if you wanted to attach an image to your Gmail message you had to click “Attach a file,” find the photos, click them, etc…

Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox 3.6 users can now just drag and drop the files to attach them — easy as pie.

Modern browsers for modern applications

The Google Enterprise blog had a great post last Friday that I’d like to share.

With the advances in Web technology over recent years, content on the Internet has evolved from simple text to heavily interactive applications.  If you’re still running an older browser, it most likely won’t be able to diplay many of the latest content features effectively.

Upgrade your browser with one of the following links to the most popular browsers available if you have’nt done so already.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0+

Mozilla Firefox 3.0+

Google Chrome 4.0+

Safari 3.0+
